In which Carnie has a nightmare ...

Yes, it is true, Carnie had a nightmare last night and woke up the entire house at 4am because he was shouting his girly head off.

The dream started off with me swimming in a pond with my daughter. She looked like she was about four. We swam from the middle of the pond into some reeds where the water was muckier. There was a log there and I set my daughter up on the on it to get her out of the mud. Here's where it gets weird. My daughter turned into someone elses daughter and I turned into her mother sort of. I was more like an observer who could feel what she was feeling. She/we went under water and when we came back up her (the mother's) face was like a doll and it terrified the little girl. She started screaming but didn't run because she was confused. All of a sudden I could feel only what I can only describe as a coiling blackness in my lower body. I felt a weird change inside and leaned forward to kiss the girl who recoiled back just as my lip brushed her cheek. I pulled back a little and could see that the kiss cut her face. The mother was whispering to her to come closer but I could feel what she wanted to do which was to eat the child. I started yelling to the girl to run from inside the mother but the blackness there was taking me somewhere too.

My wife was literally hitting me to wake me up.

I think that was one of the few 'lucid' dreams I've ever had. I woke up a few times after creeped out by something.
