Better being addicted to TV then to something that could kill you in the end. I like watching LA Ink. Those kinds of tattoo shows always make me want to go get another one. Too bad I'm chicken shit. I want to get the one I have now covered up and want another one.....somewhere, not sure what or where though. I think everyone from our generation has a butterfly or a dolphin. One of my friends has both and a giant pixie across her back. Can I tell you she never looks good in a dress. Too much. I have a really bad butterfly tattoo. Really bad. I got it when I was 19 and I have a longish complicated story to go along with it. I should post a pic of it for you to see. IMO it's bad. I'm not even a big fan of butterflies but as the story goes. I need to pick something that is me, but I can't figure out what is me. And it needs to be able to cover the one I already have. I'm confused. ;D

I always liked those discreet tatoos that meant something significant. Kris has a cool one with a british flag and a Canadian flag crossed. He has duel citicenship, so it really means something. I never knew what to get either.

The Bionic Woman. Loved it (premiered last week). I watched 20 minutes of it last night to see if it was any good and see if I recognized any of the places (it is shot in Vancouver) but I got bored and shut it off. I have a hard time concentrating on tv unless I am really enjoying it.

Meerkat Manor. NUMB3RS. Sometimes NCIS. But I mostly watch NCIS because when I was a little girl I had the hots for Ilya on "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." Almost everything else is historical or geographical. Or movies. TV's such a wasteland, the true opiate of the masses .. I once went over two years without looking at a television once, with the exception of about ten minutes worth of a report about the bombing of Kosovo. Didn't miss it a bit. It's easier than watching the propaganda the US is fed like pabulum about world events .. Meerkat Manor is awesome!! We watched it last night and now I am hooked. I don't know if I am watching the up to date season or anything but right now Mozart is trying to get back in with the clan. Poor Mozart , she lost her pups.

I've seen ads for Meerkat Manor in magazines but have never seen it on Tv or even know if it's playing here. What the hell is it? A meerkat soap opera?

Sort of. ;D
It's really cute. It's documentary style but the Meerkats have names, families, clans that they associate with. They are strangly adorable.

Last night I watched it on TVO. But that was the first time I'd watched it so I don't even know if it is current or what.
Sometimes I watch ET and all that garbage too. It's just so light on the brain and easy to watch. Great while i am making dinner!

[glow=blue,2,300]You guys have a great point about ET and E! TV. Fluff and bubblegum are absolutely good for the soul sometimes. I'll go eons without watching either and then wind up sucked into it for a few days straight.
This goes in line with psychologists who warn people that watching TV news every day of the week can add stress to your life, and that people should take occasional breaks from current news reports.
Now, I hate -- no, I *loathe* reality TV. Even the phrase is an oxymoron. Then one day I'm flipping around looking for movies and instead land on something called "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." I'm not a KISS fan, and certainly not a Simmons fan. But in less than five minutes, here I am, sucked into this show -- it's freakin' hilarious. Gene is a gem and his family are outrageously witty and funny -- they often get the best of Dad, that's for sure.
The problem is I never know when the show comes on, but catch a few episodes in a row thanks to the occasional marathons. The backdrop of the music biz gets me howling because I have so been there in some of the same situations.
There is only one show on TV I try to never miss and that's Meerkat Manor. Two weeks ago I was in a chat with the executive producer of the show but apparently so were 50,000 other people so I never got to ask him a question. Yes, I suppose to some it appears to be a type of soap opera -- excepting the fact it's real and unstaged. I think here in the US we're on Season Three.
Mozart is a tender soul. When her brother was bit by a snake and almost died, he was too weak to go foraging for food. Mozart stayed by his side to watch over him and guard him from predators. This literally meant putting her life on the line, because a meerkat must replace 25% of their weight in food daily. When she lost her own pups, she stepped right up as a wetnurse and babysitter for her mom's new pups so that her mum could go foraging.[/glow]

It's on Animal Planet - here is the link. animal.discovery.com/fansites/meerkat/meerkat.htmlHi Becky (((())))))! I was almost in tears last night when Mozart had to spend that cold night alone. I was afraid that she would die. I can't wait to watch more!

Be careful - it's addictive. I'll try to be careful. But if those little meerkats have already taken 2 of you down, there might not be much hope for me. How addictive can they be?
