oooh really? I really hate blood - I'd likely faint. Did they ever figure out why you got them? I don't remember the scientific term for it but my the walls in my nose were really thin so I didn't have much protection between the blood vessels or something along those lines. I remember my mom had to take me to the hospital a few times because I was bleeding so much. If I got hit in the nose, it would start, if the air was too dry, if I cooled by body down too fast (like jumping into a pool on a hot day) it would start, colds, stress, caffiene...all those things triggered it. The specialist cauterized my nose, they stuck a freakin' hot thingy in my nose in hopes to close up the weak spots and strengthen the walls. It should of only taken one time but I had it done 6 times. That hurt! ( I don't remember that much, I can't remember what it was exactly that they used) When that didn't work I remember I was put on some special pills, I can't remember what they were for and was told I would grow out of it once I was older because my nose would change etc. I only get them maybe once a year now unless I bump my nose. Blood doesn't bother me at all now and I can smell blood a mile away.

That sounds really painful. You'd have to worry about so much as a child. Glad that it's better now. My sister had something similar when she was a child/early teen. She had a nosebleed so bad once that we had to rush her to the hospital and they ended up removing her adnoids? Don't know exactly what happened, I was young, but I don't think she has bad nosebleeds anymore.

It did hurt, I can still remember the feel of it. I never worried too much about it, it was just something that happened, I was so used to them. I always thought they were no big deal. My mom tells me now though that she was always scared when I had them because sometimes I would bleed almost too much.
That must of been scary for your parents, the thing with your sister. rushing her in because of a nosebleed and then needing to remove her adnoids. Scary stuff.
I remember once in the morning my mom was going to take me to the hospital because I was bleeding for awhile and my grandma pinching my nose while I went to the bathroom. I was like 6 and remember that day like it was last week. LOL ;D

My daughter does not go by her given name anymore. 3 days ago she declared her new name as Darth Vader and will not answer to anything else. I'm serious too.

That was the funniest thing I have heard in a while. Does he talk like him too? Wen Kris was little he declared his name to be Starbuck from Battlestar Gallactica. He wouldn't answer to anything else. Boy was he pissed off when the new Battlestar Gallactica series came out and Starbuck was a girl! ;D

Today she's shortened it down to just Darth. I remember you telling us about the Starbuck thing. That's funny! ;D

I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I played the clarinet, the trumpet and the flute. I could probably still play the clarinet if I tried.

I played flute but barely passed music. I hated the flute. I picked the drums first and didn't get it. Was clarinet your first choice?
