Hello
I am among the many who have ridiculed orb pictures in the past and have, in fact, passed them off as wishful thinking on the part of any person who is of the mind that they may be something paranormal.
I am officially swinging back to center on this, center being confused and undecided versus being a believer or non believer in the phenomena known as the 'spirit orb'.
These were taken on a dry, cool Galveston evening. March 19, 2008 at approximately 9pm to be precise.
We were touring the section of Galveston known as "The Strand" which is home to the former sea front and has many buildings that were built from about 1850 to 1920 or so. This section of the city was devastated in 1900 as thousands tried to flee the island to escape an impending hurricane that still today stands as the worst in history. There is a haze in the Gulf of Mexico that prevents one from seeing anything in detail beyond several miles out. With the unsophisticated detection methods of the day, people were literally playing on a sunny beach one minute and running for their lives the next. At one end of The Strand there is a train station where 200 people organized a last ditch effort to make it off of the island to the main land via train. The first powerful surge washed approximately 17 feet of sea water over the island and sent the train to the bottom of the gulf along with 190 people.
All in all over 6000 people died from drowning and or trauma in Galveston that night. The next day, as the waters receded, bodies were picked up, weighted, and dropped a few miles out to sea. Within several days they were washing up on the shore by the hundreds and were eventually burned in huge piles in the center of the city.
Previous to this, Galveston served as a site of a civil war battle and the first picture here below is taken of a building that was erected as a hospital to care for wounded soldiers. Stories abound on the island of people seeing men in civil war garb, even island police have seen men dressed as such, only to have them disappear upon approaching them.
I've learned many things about Galveston and will be frequenting the island in my research that I will do on an ongoing basis from here on out.
I have tales to tell, but first, look at some pictures and see what you think.
These are not manipulated in any way and I was told by an expert in the field of ghost hunting that these are, in fact, 'spirit orbs'. I could not see any of them as I took the pictures but was amazed as they showed up in the camera's view window. They are even more colorful here and some show movement.
