What is scary with these gangs is that the move into an area and they are difficult to get out. We had several of these areas in Winnipeg and we just stayed away. Hopefully the police crack down on them as it sounds like they are having abit of a shooting rampage lately.
I don't blame you for not wanted to go out. The world is becoming a scary place, especially with kids in tow.

It's all over the papers this morning about how the mayors aren't going to take this kind of stuff and the police are cracking down on the gangs. Just the stuff they want you to hear and to think. Let's change that to a 9. 9 shootings in 11 days. Think there's some kind of gang war going on. Four people were arrested this time. |

It's getting beyond ridiculous. Hopefully they arrest these idiots or they all shoot eachother. Well they arrested 4 yesterday. It's a lot better than the shootings before when they didn't find anyone. I'm getting paranoid about letting the hubby go to work. He drives all day and goes into peoples houses and stuff so it's kinda bothering me. A year or two ago there was a home invasion/shooting and a gasfitter was at the house fixing a fireplace and he was killed. That bothers me! |

He always get people telling him he looks like celebrities too. I think he's proud of that. There was one lady who said he looked exactly like some guy off American Idol and there was another one last week but I can't remember who it was. It made me chuckle though because I couldn't see it at all. I'll have to ask him who it was again. But he's been to drug dealers, crazy cat ladies, people who don't speak English and people who want to feed him all the time. Oh what fun! ;D |

I think we're up to 15 shootings now in just under a month. Did you hear about the one about the mom who was shot and killed with her 4 year old in the car. She was married to a gang member. That was just the other day. I think we had 2 or 3 more shooting just yesterday. Click here for more |

That poor boy!  With the olympics coming in 2010, they must really be trying to clean up the streets. I can't believe how bad it is. I know that for the most part gang member tend to just kill eachother but too often does an innoceny bystander get killed. I think it's just terrible.  |

I'm glad I drive a craptastic minivan though. No one is going to mistake us for someone else. Everyone that has been mistakenly shot at were in fancy dancy vehicles. the hubby's friend was going to buy a new BMW (inheritance from his mom) this month but he's waiting now until this whole thing has stopped. If it will ever stop. |

The sickness from the south is creeping up on you  For me it's been all about abductions. We've had three in the past few weeks, one body recovered. I have a feeling things are going to get weird this side of the border. I'm buying a shotgun, & stockpiling cash and canned goods just in case. |
