The Thai Water Elephants bigger cousin?"On November 1, 1924 visitors to Margate, South Africa were witnesses to an extraordinary battle between two whales and a mysterious marine animal covered in snowy-white fur. Unfortunately for the mystery creature, the whales proved too much of a challenge, and the poor choice in adversaries cost the creature its life. Later that night the creatures body washed ashore, showing how truly strange this being proved to be. Measuring a little over 47 feet the creature, dubbed Trunko, possessed a 10 foot tail and was covered in 8 inch fur. However it's most impressive features proved to be the lack of any head, which was replaced by a 5 foot long trunk like appendage. The creature's corpse spent 10 days on the Margate beach in which no scientist gave it the time of day. Finally the sea reclaimed Trunko's body, making a possible scientific treasure lost forever. Furry sea-monster corpses like Trunko's usually prove to be the decomposed bodies of sharks in which the fur is really exposed tissue fibers. This however can't be said in the case of Trunko since the fur was seen by witnesses during it's battle with the whales. There is no known animal which resembles Trunko and since the 1924 sighting no sightings of a similar beast have occurred. "

Scientists say we've explored less than 1% of the ocean's floors. We've actually mapped far more of outer space than we have our own oceans. There are a myriad of wonders yet to be discovered there.
Here's the thing that gets me. When I was nine my family was visiting a place we used to live on a large lake in Alabama, and Mom and I had gone outside to sit on the shore in our nightgowns -- we were very used to it being deserted, especially since we'd stayed up late playing cards. The lake was tranquil enough to hear fish flopping out of the water half a mile away.
And about a quarter mile away, they were demolishing one bridge as they'd built a new one next to it. I was staring at it, thinking about what a good fishing place it would be, when Mom suddenly grabbed my arm and said "Look!" It was hard to tell what I was looking at. There was a great disturbance on the water, but that's not what caught my eye -- it was the light that kept sinking deeper under the water. She told me she had seen a glowing craft go straight into the water, no hesitation. I wished I'd gotten a better look but didn't. It had to have been large, because I did not hear the actual splash until I turned to look, so it had to have been at least several football-field-lengths from us, for the sound to have been that delayed.
We waited a couple of minutes more, then went back inside.
I really didn't think much of it over the years until I was there when she told her best friend that she'd seen UFO's going into the water on that lake -- on more than one occasion.
Here's my question. If shit like that is going on in the largest man-made lake in Alabama, can one imagine what's going on in the ocean?
How young mankind's mind truly is.
