Ghostly experiences Like many old buildings, the hotel is not without it's own ghost stories: The missing room 873: The rumour is that a family was killed in room 873, and no matter how hard the mirrors in the room were cleaned after the murders, a little girl's fingerprints always returned to the mirrors surface. The room was ultimately blocked off by extending the walls over the door, however evidently the outline of the door can still be seen, and guests have reported seeing ghosts of the family. The bride: The story tells that a bride was coming down the main staircase on her wedding day. The staircase was filled with lighted candles to celebrate the special event. As she descended the train of her dress caught on one of the candles and her dress caught fire. Panicking she tumbled down the staircase, breaking her neck in the process. She can be seen wandering the halls of the hotel. The staircase still exists, however weddings were no longer held in that area of the hotel. The bellhop: Wanders through the hotel offering his services to patrons, especially those that have forgotten their key. The helpful bartender: Who has been known to tell hotel patrons who have over-indulged that it's time they went to their beds. www.gobanff.net/banff_activities_banff_springs_hotel.html
