UFO's and the Bible

I ran across Pat Cooke while listening to the BVRN (Black Vault Radio Network) podcast and he immediately captured my attention with his ideas. He has an intriguing website whereupon he deals with what he believes are connections with technology, aliens and UFO's in the biblical context. He sources all of his information from the King James bible and in my opinion his work is leading edge.

[glow=blue,2,300]I hope you don't mind if I reply without looking over the material -- this board is so friggin' huge *coughs* I have lots to catch up on (but will come back to check this out, sounds interesting).

It is said that if the reality of ET visitation is revealed on a world-wide scale, that not only will anarchy ensue, but specifically, some of those in the religious fields believe it will threaten their faith systems. I find that notion comical if not rather backwards .. egocentric and narrow-minded. Why do these people believe that we humanoids would be God's only creation when God Himself is so infinite, His power so omnipotent?

I think those who are *truly* worried are those who use God to control man, i.e., religion. Worshiping God is awesome and wonderful, but man's interpretations of Him, and the religions they've created, have chased more away from Him than have gathered His flock unto Him, and that's one of the greatest sadnesses of Faith.

Do the Bible, Torah, Qu'ran and other religious texts describe ET events? I believe they do. Does this negate the existence of beings such as angels? Of course not. Religion closes the mind in some ways; true faith opens it.[/glow]

I think there's a misconception that when one says that they follow the Bible it means the same thing to them as it means to others. The first question to ask is "which version?" because there are many. Some will claim that the many versions were in an effort to 'improve' the translation but I really fear that the actuality of the situation is that the 'translations' have been twisted a bit to make them say what perhaps dishonest people/societies/monarchies etc wanted them to say.

I think science and the study of ourselves will inevitably LEAD us to God despite the apparent current trend that suggests that science and God are somehow adversary. A good scientist will agree that we understand approximately 2% of the world that surrounds us.
