In Scottish folklore, a Kelpie is a water spirit believed to inhabit every lake and stream in Scotland and Ireland. In some legend, it is also considered to be a death omen if seen. According to most legends, the Kelpie is most commonly seen as a white horse but has also been known it be in the shape of a man. As horses, they appear on lakes and river banks grazing peacefully and lure travelers to mount them. Once mounted the horse plunges into the river drowning their victims. Some stories tell of the Kelpies eating their victims until nothing is left but the liver, which floats to the surface. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelpie

I love this stuff. No wonder I can't focus on life in the 'now'. There's too much cool stuff to think about.
