No our system is not perfect and prisoners should not be put to death with circumstancial evidence only. If it is a heinous crime (eg one against children) and their is DNA evidence or video evidence then I think that they should get the death penalty. A slow, painful execution.
In society today a prisoner has more rights and priveledges than most North Ameriacns do. Ever see that commercial about how one million people can't afford rent AND hydro at the same time? Imagine what the statistics are for people who can't afford to eat let alone get a proper education. In prison these monsters get warm meals, warm beds, and a free education as well as free heathcare and any kind of counselling and law representation that they may require. Things need to change.
