So what did you think? Is Karla more involved than she admits? Karla is most definitley evil. I think Paul would of stuck with just raping the girls if she had never come around. I can't stay and chat but we'll discuss later this afternoon ok? Yes I agree. Paul wanted to keep them around but Karla didn't want that because they interferred with her normal life. I though that it was interesting that she developed a relationship with Jane Doe all on her own, drugged her and filmed sexually assaulting her. Paul wasn't even involved in that one. I think what convinced me most was the bruises found on the girls backs that were consistant in size with Karla's knees and Paul told authorities that Karla strangled them by putting a cord around their neck flipping them onto their stomaches and getting on their back and pulling. Plus I tend to believe Paul's story - what does he have to lose (o gain for that matter). He admits that Yes he did want to abduct them and have them as his sex slaves but he didn't kill them. Karla did.

Did you ever watch that made for TV movie called "Karla"? I would like to see it if it's any good. Actually it isn't a made for TV movie (unless I am thinking of a different movie). This movie was was released in theatres. Some cities outright banned it and made a big deal out of it's production and success in the film festivals. Only major cities ended up showing this movie and luckily I caught it here in Winnipeg. I felt naughty watching it, like maybe I wasn't supposed to. My sister was just telling me that 'Karla'(the movie) just came in at the store (my Dad's store). They haven't recieved any negative comments yet it is Ontario, close to the heart of the matter and I'm sure they will get a few complaints. If you get a chance you should watch it. I find that they sort of play the Karla as an abused wife role too much though.

I can't believe she's out already even with all the video evidence they had. I'm sorry but there's no way that she was forced into doing any of that.

I can imagine the bad feedback on the movie in Ontario. I imagine people are quite pissed about the whole thing.

Sounds frightening.
I am reading Slash's autobiography. It's quite good but I am only reading a few pages a day if that as that is all I have time for.

I have the horrible problem of starting one book, getting bored and moving on to another, getting bored....so on & so forth. I got the final Harry Potter the day it came out, I got half way through & it wasn't that I got bored but life happened and I haven't finished. I will get back to it though.
Then when I knew I would be out of work post surgery I picked up "Schulz and Peanuts" it's a biography about Charles Schulz the Charlie Brown cartoonist. I am almost half way through & it is really good. I am a huge Charlie Brown fan and it is interesting to see how much Charlie Brown was an alter ego for Charles. It's kind of sad too though, he was not a very happy man.
I also picked up but haven't started yet "The Almost Moon" by Alice Sebold. She also wrote "The Lovely Bones". I loved her memoir too. Very sad, but riveting. So I am looking forward to reading that next.

I didn't know that about Charles Shultz. I always assumed he was happy, I have no idea why I thought that, I guess maybe because he made so many people happy with his cartoon. Plus he was so successful.

I'm not a big GNR fan so that's one I probably won't read. But then again I did read Tommyland..Tommy Lee's autobiography because I had nothing better to read and actually enjoyed it. So I should never say never.

Holly,
Since you read Tommyland, did you ever read The Dirt? It was stories from all of the band members in Motley Crue. It is a trip, if you even liked Tommyland in the least you would probably like The Dirt. I thought it was hysterical.

I think my other half has it though, I'll have to go check, I know he has a few but not sure which ones. Thanks, I'll have to check it out. ;D

I'm not really a Guns fan or a Motley Crue fan, I like a few of their songs (more gnr than mc). Kris got the Crue book last year and I picked it up to browse and I honestly couldn't put it down. Same with Slash's book that was a xmas gift for this year and I read all my xmas books in two days and I picked up his and it is actually quite good. I have to wonder how these musicians even survived with the lifestyles that they had/have.

How could you not finish the final book!!! LOL I think I had it finished in two days. We were actually one of those familys that got all dressed up and went to the release party (at Tatnuck Booksellers). My 17-year-old daughter didn't want to dress up cause she insisted that NOBODY actually dresses up for those things. She ended up wearing the sorting hat because she was one of the few who were not dressed up. yeah.... we are one of those family's that is into Harry Potter.

I am a huge Harry Potter Fan myself and read all the other books in a matter of days as well. Not as big of a fan as you & your family with the dressing up but I think that is great! It must have been such a fun & memorable experience for you all the share. I am so bummed that the Tatnuck Bookseller in Worcester shut down. I have never been out to the one in Westboro (it is Westboro right?) I really should head out there soon. It would probably only be a little over a 20 min drive or so. Maybe one of these weekends. I have sob story excuses for getting away from finishing the book that I won't bore you with. You know, I think I will put the Charles Schulz book on hold & pick back up Harry until it is done. Thanks for guilting me into to it ;D Just kidding!!!!!!

Yup. Tatnuck's in Westboro now. Funny thing is that I had never been to the one in Worcester.
The weird thing about the release of the last book.
Me and my son were at the mall in Millbury that morning and people were already lined up at Barnes & Noble. Seeing that we had to wait for my wife to come home from work, I figured we would be the LAST ones arriving at Tatnuck. We didn't get there until about 6 pm. We were the first ones there. Noone else showed up until about 7. By midnight it was wall to wall people.
If we could've afforded it, we would've done the release party at Higgins Armory. Supposedly they had decorated it ala Hogwarts and it was a 'sleepover' release party. It sounded awesome but they wanted $140 per parent with one child and then it was another $20 for each copy of the book. It would've ended up costing us $360.
I won' t make any comments about Deathly Hallows until you are through with it. Don't want to spoil it for you.
