All right, let's have it. There is implication in your tone so I'm thinking I won't be surprised if you say you didn't like it. If that is the case, tell me what scares you (but don't say House of 1000 corpses, or I'll laugh at you )

haha, you know me too well. ;D First of all, I thought it was a very good book, I really enjoyed it and am glad I read it. BUT I didn't find it very scary. I really tried to read it with an open mind and tried to see the scariness in it. But it just didn't scare the pants off me. House of 1000 Corpses is not scary you goof. That kind of stuff doesn't scare me but I do have a haunted house story from Playland the other day I could tell you about but then you would laugh at me and think I am a super freak. I think for me personally, I have to see it to be scared. The Shining novel scared me but I haven't read that in awhile. Maybe I should crack that one open again and see if it still does.

I want to hear the haunted house story.
Like I said, I didn't think Jackson's book was 'in your face' scary. There was something about Eleanor's madness and the way the story unfolded and the subtlety of the whole thing that got to me.
Tell me a few more books that scared you or at least got you a little.

I totally didn't see this until today. Okay let me think.....The Shining scared me, always has. Everytime I read it I get the heebie jeebies. Ghosts don't scare me alot it's the monsters and goblins that get me more. I'm the kind of person that can't hang any body part over my bed in case a troll comes to eat my leg. ;D

..... 'In a Dark Place' ........ I would like to find that one, too, yet not give my firstborn child for it. Daunting task, or so it seems.

I really want to read this book. My sister read it years ago and got rid of the book right away, she didn't want it in her house. Another one i want to read is 'In a Dark Place' but I am having trouble finding that one at any of the bookstores, I think it's out of print. I would like to find that one, too, yet not give my firstborn child for it. Alright, I've never heard of this book but am so curious and definitely want to read it now.

That one sounds really good but the price on it!! The killer clown kinda has my interest too though. I'll tell you later today how to link like that. Swampy gave me the crash course months ago and I didn't understand at all what he was talking about... ....then when I saw it through a quote, I figured it out. I'll tell ya later, I'm one way out the door to do some Wal-Mart Superstore shopping.
