I didn't realize I knew that many Hedley songs either. And the guy's red pants!!! He's brave! And he's a wiry little thing isn't he? ;D He kept saying "hello Vancouver, we are Hedley" like a million times though and that was kinda annoying and I never knew he was from around here either.
Also mid way through their performance, the drummer had his girlfriend come on stage and asked her to marry him.

That sounds like an amazing show. Especially the part about the drummer. How different can two concerts be??? We never got presents dammit!
So I take it you had a fun girls night?

So I take it you had a fun girls night? No not really. I wasn't feeling well and I went with three girls, one being my good friend. One girl I don't know well at all and the other I know a bit. I got stuck sitting beside the one I don't know and all 3 of them went to school together...I'm a couple of years younger than all of them so I was in a younger grade. So they were all talking about high school and taking pictures of themselves and each other and pretty much totally ignored that I was even there. Which was okay because I was the only one who wasn't drunk and didn't feel like giggling about anything. I felt very much like an adult last night. And I had some creepy guy on the other side of me who kept telling me how good my hair smelled, so he was my entertainment for the night. ;D

;D I think he's 28. I'd teach him a thing or two don't worry about that. He's also a dady now (thanks to that tramp Nicole Ritchie) but I think I'd make a good step Mom. Your honey's a baby daddy now and it's not yours. That BASTARD!

OK,,, so I am adding my 2 cents to the concert thread. Sadly though I haven't been to a concert in a while. I love concerts & going to see live music , the energy is so addictive. I had my best friend over earlier & we drank quite a bit of wine so I warn you all ahead of time in case I get a little long winded ;D "Back in the day", as I like to call it, I went to all the hard rock/metal shows that came through town. I am a child of the 80's-90's & rock n roll is how I lived it up. Damn,,,I miss those days! You name a "hair band" from that time & chances are I not only saw them live but met them as well. Now mind you I wasn't that kind of "groupie" but I loved meeting the rock stars, getting their autographs & a picture taken with them. The last concert I saw in a big arena was the Bon Jovi show a few years back I mentioned earlier. Oh wait nope that's not true, I saw Poison the past 2 summers at the outdoor arena in Mass. but it's no where near as big as the stadium where I saw Bon Jovi. A few times over the last year I saw a few of the more obscure bands from my youth at small clubs. Those shows are trips! Now I had the big hair back in the day too, really big, I should have had stock in Aqua Net but some girls are still rocking that look. It is hysterical.

Since the concert thread was bumped... Earlier this summer I took my son to see Def Leppard. Styx and Foreigner at the Tweeter Center. Funny thing is I saw Def Leppard and Europe there almost 20 years (back when it was Great Wood). To be honest, Def Leppard was much better now rather than in their younger days. Here's a taste...

I used to like those bands too. Right now I am reading Slash's (from G'N'R for those of you who live under a rock) autobiography and there is much talk about Poison and what losers they are. Personally I have quite a few Poison songs in my music file. The stuff that those hair bands came out with was true anthem music. The soundtrack to my early teen years. Can you share with us any stories on you you got to meet? I'm jealous already. Only bands that I got to meet was Big Sugar (in a bar) and Glass Tiger (we got special passes and their autographs way back in the 80's).

Thanks for sharing that clip. It looks like it would have been a great show. How old is your son? So cool to have an appreciation of music from bygone days. If I had gone to that show I would've had to drive a firebird or a camaro and would have had the 80's hair. Plus I would have rocked out to Mr. Roboto bigtime. ;D

I am amazed at how many kids today are into the 80's music. When I was their age, I wouldn't have been caught dead listenting to the same music my parents listened to (much less go to a concert with them). Funny thing is, my 17 year old daughter is going to see Celtic Woman in March. (I wouldn't be caught dead there!!! LOL The Def Leppard/Styx/Foreigner concert was amazing. We had decent seats and it was one hell of a show. The one thing I learnt that night is that Foreigner's drummer is Jason Bonham (John Bohham's (of Led Zeppelin) son). They did a mix of Jukebox Hero and Whole Lotta Love and I found it odd until I got home and looked it up and found out the connection between Foreigner and Led Zeppelin. I've always like Styx's music but never really considered myself a fan UNTIL I SAW THEM IN CONCERT. Dennis DeYoung was amazing on the keyboard. Wow. I just checked Def Leppard's tour schedule. They are now touring with Styx AND Reo Speedwagon.

Wow this concert thread is fun ;D Angie, I am 33 but will be 34 in March. I have to say no matter what that hard rock music of the 80's-90's was always fun. It wasn't political or depressing as I found some of the grunge music to be that became popular in the mid 90's. When you went to one of those concerts it was entertainment. The bands dressed up, they had massive stages, lights, pyrotechnics. While the show was going you forgot about everything else, you simply had a great time for a couple of hours. It was worth every penny! OK now back to my groupie days....well the most famous person I met I didn't meet until this past November by chance in Vegas. That was Vince Neil, the lead singer of Motley Crue. But back in the day I met in no particular order and some of these bands I may have only met some members not the whole band: Whitesnake, Tesla, Cinderella, Stryper, White Lion, Vixen, Britney Fox, The Black Crows, Warrant, Slaughter, Lillian Axe, The Cult, E' Nuff Z' Nuff, Nelson, Trixter, Faster Pussycat, Winger, Kix, Firehouse, Sweet FA, Spread Eagle, Lynch Mob, Tora Tora, Bullet Boys, Skid Row, Extreme, Danger Danger. I know there are more but they aren't really coming to me now. Some or a lot of those bands you may not of heard of, some of them never got hugely popular. I was such a hair band junkie though I knew them all. My life back then mostly consisted of Metal Edge Magazine & MTV's Head-banger's Ball. Pretty sad I know That kept me up on all the bands.

Jukebox hero and whole lotta love sounds like it would have been amazing. I almos wish that they would release it. Also I listened to alot of foreigner when I was really young (like 5 o so) I loved Juke Box Hero. My parents seperation coincided with Foreigners first album (with Cold as Ice) and so I heard that album an awful lot. Your son sounds very cool! You are lucky. I take my daughter to concerts alot as well but she is 8. I didn't buy her a ticket to Bon Jovi because I thought that she wouldn't be interested (infact she always bugs me that Nickleback and Bonjovi sound alike - BLAH) and she was so mad at me especially when she found out that Hedley was opening.

Slaughter!!!! Did you meet Mark? I was soooooo in love with him. I wasn't an out and out metal head. I was a preppy type girl but liked all kinds of music. I listened to most of those bands in your lists at one time or anoher. Last night on the news they announced that the Cult was coming to Winnipeg (where I live right now) in April but we are moving a few weeks before that. Bummer. My husband is your age. I will be 32 in February. Do you have any kids Sarah? Are you married? Hope I'm not being too nosey if I am just tell me to go to hell. ;D
