As a performer she should know that her performance should be her #1 concern. Not her hair, outfit or body shape. I knew two weeks before the VMA's that she would be the opening act so how far in advance did she know? Had it been me, I would have rehearsed until my routine was stellar, especially since this was supposed to be her big comeback.
Hear in Canada we have tons of people who vocally can't sing or I should say aren't what you'd call technically good. Like Burton Cummings (The Guess Who) or Neil Young but are amazing performers and top notch in the music business. Another good example is The lead singer for The Barenaked Ladies. Not attractive but knows his shit, sings his stuff well and puts on a good show. Britney needs to figure out that those that are judging her performance on her looks alone are not worth her time and likely aren't the ones buying her music. Put on a good show, know your material, sing as well as you can (don't lip sync) and for that she would have won alot of respect, even if she had just stood in one place on stage, wore jeans and a sweatshirt and just sang. Hopefully she learned a lesson.
Now I hear that she is having to take drug tests weekly.
