Blah....they start soon.
Guess what I found out this morning!!! Arnold Swartznbaconandegger is going to be carrying the torch this week. What the hell? I don't get it? An Austrian born American? Hubba-what? There are so many CANADIAN celebrities they could get. Do California and Canada have any ties? I'm confused about it.
And I would love to have my Canucks hockey back. Darn Olympics. I bet all my shows will be replaced with televised Olympic coverage too.
I will watch the mens hockey though. Roberto Luongo is the goalie (he's the Canuckles' goalie too) so we have to watch that one. That's it though. Anti-Olympic except the hockey part. ;D

I bought this cool coupon book at Roger's video so I will be renting alot of movies and games the next few weeks. Also I have a couple of good books. Kris just finished 'Under the Dome' the new Stephen King book. I'll get through the next few weeks Olympics free.
It must be hard when the damn thing is right next door to you. Are you planning on going to see any of it? With Em getting to hold the torch I was thinking maybe you'd be more interested.

I've been wanting to read "Under The Dome" How did Kris like it? Let me know how you like it. I think I haven't picked it up yet because it's so bloody big. It'll be hard to read in the bathtub. Nope, no interest in the Olympics at all besides what I wrote about in the the other thread (whatever thread that was). I'm not going anywhere over the bridge until they are done. I've been watching the news. It's a mad house already and they haven't even started.

Rumors are flying that Terry Fox is going to light the thing at BC PLace. Using holograms and fancy computer stuff. That's really really cool but really really kinda freaky too. Can't wait!
I'll probably cry though. It's one of those days. Hope there is no Hallmark commercials on TV today!

Okay so I have to admit something.....I've sadly been watching the olympics. Not religiously or anything. I've watched a few events (girls hockey, short track, skating, snow boarding) and mostly just flick between channels when I watch regular tv. I think I got hooked when I saw Alex win Gold. That was pretty awesome.
Anyways Kiki is totally hooked to it all. If I leave the remote anywhere where she can get it she will change it to the olympics.

Have you caught olympic fever yet? NO! Not at all! We were at swimming lessons yesterday when the hockey game was on and I kept checking the score in the cardio room but that's about it. We were thinking of heading out there this Friday to check out the town. But after reading in the papers about the 45-60 minute line ups just to use the bathrooms and over an hour waits for anything else we may head in the other direction. I have better things to do than wait an hour to pee somewhere.

The only thing that sounds appealing about going down to Robson square is to go to all the different pavillions to check out all the different types of cuisine. My friend that lives right in the city has been raving about that but she is also right into the olympics. She even went to one of the award ceremonies.

Wow what a hockey game yesterday huh? I bet you were all proud of Luongo??
Kiki had a hockey game a half hour after the olympic game started. There were NO Dad's there at all. We all rushed out after the game to see if we could catch the end of it. We got to my Mom's just in time to watch the 3rd period. So proud of Canada.
The Americans looked like we were spoon feeding them shit when they were getting the silver medals. They should be proud anyways, it was a close game. They could have atleast smiled. I'm sure our Canadian boys would have smiled and been proud just to be playing for gold.
Anyways kind of glad it's all over. i can get back to watching all my regular shows.

yesterday was awesome. Em made signs all morning for her Luongo and had her little Luongo figurine out and ready to go. He's been watching all the games with us. J jumped and yelled so much when they scored the winning goal that Em dropped to the ground and started crying. he scared her so bad. Then J went out back and lit off firecrackers. Lots of fun! USA must of been so disappointed though. I am sure after that fact they will be proud of their silvers. That's gotta hurt anyone. Thank goodness it wasn't us. yay Canada!!
