Kiki watches The Penguins...but nly because of Crosby and he hasn't been playing lately so we haven't been watching. I know you guys are big Canuck fans. Our Leafs aren't doing too well. How are the Canucks doing?

They are doing well. I don't watch every single hjockey game or anything but I always check the score. When it's the playoffs we get more excited about it.
I know the Canucks were #1 in the league a few weeks ago. I don't know if they still are or not though.

My Mom is the biggest hockey fan - you aren't even allowed to talk while she is watching - lol. Go Canucks! |

Last weekend for hockey! Kiki has her bday party on Friday night. 16 girls at laser tag. Most of the girls are from Kiki's hockey team and a few from her school. Then we have our championship game on Saturday and our hockey dinner afterwards. This year I ordered medals for all the girls with with what they are 'famous' for. Thought it would be fun! Also made a nice photo album for our coach with all teh girls pictures and little messages to him from each girl. Then on Sunday we have our parent-daughter game.
I was looking forward to the season being over and now Kiki is signed up to play 3 on 3 hockey this Spring and then lacrosse all summer - bloody hell - it never ends!
How are your Canucks doing? Are they still #1?

Exactly. Don't worry the Leafs didn't even make the playoffs so we have nothing to make fun of you about. Boston on the other hand will rub it in all they can. |

So last year we started the hockey season with 4 girls on Kiki's team. We had to advertise and get word out and recruit other girls justto have a team. I think at the end of the year we had 14 girls. This year we have 26! We had to actually break the team into two. I have also taken on the role of trainer and I am rethinking that decision. I am the one who has to go out on the ice if one of the girls gets injured. I am teh deciding factor whether or not to call 911. I have to keep up on the medical files, file injury reports, create an Emergency Action Plan and ground and reintroduce sick or injured players on and off the ice. I don't know if I want that responsibilty. I kinda want my manager role back.  |

That sounds like a big job. A lot of responsibilty. What are you going to do? I got a real good taste of what a trainer does yesterday afternoon at practice. Kiki had a collision with a team mate and fell down. She ended up with bruised ribs and a minor concussion. Pretty scary stuff. Once her headache goes away she needs to stay off the ice for one week. I am in the process of looking for another trainer and I will do back up. I want the manager position more. I am terrified that something major will happen and I will blank out.  |
