I have this weird fear of bees of any shape sort or size. It's not a phobia or anything, I just don't like the little buggers. I've never been stung by one so I'm always thinking I will be deathly allergic to them so when they come near me, I'm outta there. We put the air conditioners in the windows the other day and there is always a little hole where the creepy crawlies can get through and into the house. This morning there was a wasp in Em's room. the hubby killed it (or so he thought!!) and threw it in the garbage can. He left for work and sure enough there was another one at the front window. So I killed that one and tossed it outside. The girls were playing the in toy room and they start screaming there's a HUGE spider in the room so I go to throw whatever it was I had in my hand in the garbage and as soon as I lift the lid the first wasp flies up in the face all pissed off and ready to attack. I swat it back down into the garbage, slam the lid shut and throw the whole thing onto the back porch. I go into the playroom and there is a spider the size of my freakin' butt crawling over the Barbies. The f**ker was fast too and I couldn't catch him. So I gave up on him and went to get my garbage which was thrown all over the back porch in my little "Get it outta my house" fit. Still looking for the butt size spider. Spiders don't bug me as long as they aren't on me and bees can kiss my ass. I'll kill every last one of those suckers.....but I will save them if they are drowning the pool. Go figure huh!! What kind of bugs do you have roaming through your house?

First of all, lol at both the ass sized spider and the sneak attack from the wasp in the garbage can.
I forgot that you have never been stung either. I have the same fear. Kiki has never been stung either though I am amazed by this since she hoots and hollars and runs screaming from any bee like creature. She even thought a humming bird was a bee at my Dad's the other day. I don't like bees/hornets/wasps either. Although I have stopped panicking when they get near.
Living in Winnipeg I was used to not seeing very many bugs. Moving here, and the city being on a lake and the house being surrounded by trees and gardens I see my fair share. We have tons of garden spiders. They start out small but by the end of the summer they are huge and try to get indoors before the cold weather comes. Sometimes I find them in the tub in the morning - yuck. We also have jumping spiders. Luckily they stay quite small but they will jump on you and that freaks me out. The worst of them all is ear-wigs. Some years are worse than others for them. They like water, so my water table and toys usually have a few in them that I have to kill before the kids get to it.
Do you have ear-wigs there?

We do have ear wigs and I always see them on the outside plastic toys. Like the slide/climbing thing and the playhouse and stuff. Must be something about the plastic.
We have jumping spiders. Actually quite a few now that I think of it. We have one in the kitchen (biggest jumping spider I've ever seen!!). He's up on the ceiling and I don't feel like climbing a chair and trying to catch him so he can just jump in my hair and make me fall. So I've named him George and he's my buddy. We've made a deal that he can live in the corner for the summer but if he comes down from that corner then there will be trouble.
Wolf Spiders though are not allowed in the house. I will freak if I see one of those suckers in the house. I don't like killing anything either (except ants!). I swear his buddies will come for me if I kill something. LOL!!
We have the big black ants here alot too. They eat the wood from the shop (you've seen photos of the shop, it's past it's prime). Luckily they are all outside and stay mainly in one spot. We RAID them and set traps to kill the mofo's but they are plentiful. lol! ;D Last week I was sitting in the grass with the kids and one went down my shirt. They can all die now!!!
Wood bugs are common here too. Em likes to play with them.

I don't think I know what a wood bug is. Is there another name for it?
Do you have mosquitos? May is always a really bad month here for them. We'll get blackflies during the day than we get an hour or so when the sun starts to go down where there is no blackflies then the mosquitos come out. Luckily where we live isn't too bad. Where my Dad lives (Up North) they are terrible.
I noticed we are getting alot of ants around here too. We have tons of peonies and the ants love them.

J was bit by one of these last year. We couldn't figure out what kind of bug it was. It hurt alot and his back swelled up so much we almost took a trip to the clinic. Just now as I was looking for a photo of a wood bug I find this photo. It's an Assassin Bug which as I just read has a very hurtful bite and the poison dissolves it's victims tissue, turning it into mush. No wonder if hurt. Good thing J is bigger than your average insect or else we would of had trouble. LOL!!

I thought everyone had wood bugs. LOL! ;D They are anywhere where wood can be found. J has a pile of wood left over from the fence he rebuilt and they are in there. Under any big plastic toy they can be found too. We have a big Little Tykes merry go round toy and every once in a while we lift it up and there are tons of wood bugs, spiders, beetles, worms. We like to check it out. ;D I don't think they bite. Em plays with them all the time.

HA! I bought 'Spider Blaster' and sprayed all around my doors and windows of the house. It is supposed to kill the bastards up to three weeks. Happy Day!

Dammit! ;D I just can't stand the thought of them roaming around my house. If I see one and it escapes before I can kill it then I can't sleep properly until I find it. I picture it crawling into my nose or ears while I am sleeping,

*shudders* I found a centipede IN MY HOUSE yesterday. Luckily Kris was there to kill it but even he didn't like it, he even took the corpse outside to put in the garbage.

It just sounds big if you through it in the garbage. Our centipedes are about an inch or two at most. Normally we have the little reddish ones but this year I have been seeing the black ones. Something bit my ass while I was sleeping the other day. I don't think it was a mosquito because it's not itchy but it swelled up pretty nice. Damn bugs that molest you while your sleeping.

Maybe that is what is wrong with my ass! It looks swollen too. Maybe it was a spider bite? The centipede I saw was about 3 inches long. Biggest one I ever saw and it was in the wall trim. I am still trying to figure out how it got in the house.
