Oh shit, what to do , what to do. The vaccine should be available in a few days and I don't know what to do. 9 people in the Fraser Valley have died this month alone from H1N1. All but one had underlying conditions. I wish Swampie was around to give us his two cents about this. He's always so smart when it comes to this stuff.

I am reconsidering getting the vaccine. Not the H1N1 but the regular flu shot.....don't know what to do either. We still have 10 days here in Ontario and the first few days will be crazy busy so I doubt that I'd even be able to get one right away.

Okay so I was getting it all mixed up. I am thinking of just getting the H1N1 vaccine but not the regular flu one.
How about you?

We had a talk last night and I think were are going to get the H1N1 vaccine. Probably not the regular flu shot though. We never normally get that one so why start now. I used to get Emily's flu shots done but we never did it last year and she's been super healthy all year (knock on wood!) But J and I never get the flu shots.
We just decided that with everything that happened last February we aren't going to take any chances. I would hate to be doing the "what if's" for the rest of my life is something bad happened.
Did you know that kids under 10 years old have to get the vaccine in half doses, 21 days apart. I'm gonna have a hell of a time getting Em in there twice. Ah well.

I should be getting it anyways since I have a house full of kids. I'd feel terrible if I got them sick and I'd be pissed if I got it from them too - lol. I think they are recommending kids get the shot too, hopefully the parents decide to do it otherwise I will be watching them with my special coughsneeze eye and I will be sending them home (I still get paid). ;D Poor Em. Like I said before, bribe her with toys.

I called out doctor today to find out when we can get in for our shots. Probably later next week or the week after because of Em's age. I mention what happened with the hubby last year too so maybe we can sneak in earlier. I think I would rather take my chances with the shot then be sicker than a dog and who knows what else. It just scares me because that 26 year old totally healthy mom who lived 20 minutes away from me died a few weeks ago. That's way too close to home.

We are all starting to get achy and headaches here. Kris is stuffed up and has a scratchy throat. I think H1N1 is hitting home.

We had the sore throats last week and that was it. Hopefully it's the same for you guys. Just remember, if it gets bad, go to your doctors. Hopefully it's just the seasonal flu. are you guys getting the vaccine?

Hopefully it's just the seasonal flu. are you guys getting the vaccine? So many people here have H1N1. Half of Kiki's hockey team and most of the schools in this area have it. I am sure we will get it. I just have to keep thinking of it like the flu bug that it is. It is the flu and most people get it and are okay. At this point it is too late to do much and even getting the needle it takes 2 weeks to take effect. So if we do get it then no we won't bother getting immunized as then we should have the immunity in our system already so there is no point injecting more virus into it. Kris just called in sick to work. I'm feeling decent right now. One of the daycare parents just went home sick too.

Wow, that nuts. Well I hope you all feel better. You guys will be fine. Like you said, its just the same as any other flu. You know what to look out for and you guys will be okay. J's brother had it or so he thinks and within 2 days he felt much better.
Still super scary I know. And the media has put that fear into us. Those bastards!!

You haven't been here today....hope everyone is feeling alright. Nah, I think it's just a cold. Kris is stuffed up and scratchy throat. No fever, chills or aches. I am doing good and so is Kiki. Daycare Mom just has a cold too, she went and got tested yesterday. How are you all doing? What about your community?
